Many years ago, crikey B4 I was married  I went to the Family Doctor [remember them?] for The Pill.  "What would you say if I told you that I don't prescribe this due to my Religion?"  he got short shrift I can tell you ..........  'you shouldn't let your person preferences come into your prescribing decisions!'. "You are so like your Father".  'Yep, until you prove otherwise'.  I was all of 16  but I go the script.

I still can't believe that a GP would consider his ethics against his hypocritical oath.  Seems that personal attitudes still prevail

CLKD, So it would seem! Coincidentally, an equally long time ago ( 1971) when l decided to go on the pill l didn't dare go to my family doctor for the same reason! I was I8 but didn't want him telling my Mum which l'm sure he would have done. Well done to you for standing up to your Dr at such a young age though!
Luckily l found out about  the Marie Stopes clinic in London and was able to go there.  A bit of a trek but worth it!

I had no transport so the GP was the option.  Had he told anyone there would have been fireworks I can tell you!  Bugga if the first Pill didn't make me heave in the mornings  so I had to come up with an excuse to Mum ..........

My first gyn told me that hrt is poison and I must avoid it! I was 41! His attitude was unethical and non scientific at all!
My next gyn gave me hrt almost immediately and say that I can stay on it for life if I want, with regular checks up. Nobody can tell you that hrt causes cancer or not taking hrt you can avoid cancer.

Isn't it depressing that we are still in the hands of G.Ps who are not properly clued up on hrt? I would still like to know where mine got her evidence that long term hrt ( over 10 years) causes a 4 times increase in breast cancer. I will definitely question it next time l go to the surgery.

I would send an e-mail to the Surgery D&P - and ask for Research Papers to back up that statement. Then when you go for the next appt. you can query it!

Most of what we do has the potential to poison our bodies: food, air quality, medication .......... water in some parts of the World .......... allergens.

CLKD, That's a good idea, at least it would answer my question so that l can then make an informed decision.

It may be that the Surgery are 'quoting' very old dis-credited research papers.
