Anxious, dizzy, unfocussed.. Help!
« on: June 03, 2019, 03:01:37 PM »

Hi everyone im new here but have been going through the menopause for about a year and have coped pretty well on and off until sweats and lack of focus made me see gp. I finally gave in to hrt and was given evorel conti patches but then avoided using them for a few months in denial. I had a frightening week last week where i lost all focus at work, almost felt hyperactive but couldnt stop crying so i put my first patch on on friday but within an hour or 2 i felt sick, dizzy, weepy and shaky. It was really frightening. I ripped the patch off and left work early in a panic. Now i dont know what to do. Should i see my gp and ask for something different? Has anyone else experienced this and how have you coped? Ive never felt so unlike myself and its terrifying!

Hi Janet, welcome to hell   :(
Are you officially post meno or peri...wondering if a period or withdrawal bleed might be coming. I am not familiar with evorel...

I just started the estradiol patch and progesterone pill in March. March was ok, April, I had 3 bleeds in 4 weeks and horrendous pms everyday.  May, my obgyn changed my progesterone from 100mg daily to 200mg days 1-14.  Took my first pill on Sat night and I felt drunk and giddy, weird euphoria kind of  ??? I took it on an empty stomach that night as I had nausea all day :'(  Today, I feel out if it and cannot keep my eyes open from exhaustion.  Still struggling.  I am a dizzy girl anyways, I have a vestibular migraine issue and I have been awful lately. Wondering if you just need more time.
Sorry I am not much help, I am new at navigating this as well.

Hi Janetsilver,
Yes!!! Ive been using 100mg Estradot patches and then a pump of Estrogel in the evening and so far its been going well but ive noticed my hair is shedding slightly. This happened when I was using Estrogel on its own before but a lot more hair loss. This morning was patch change day so I thought i would try cutting a 50 patch in half and trying that combination  instead of the gel. By mid afternoon i felt dizzy and spaced out to the point where it scared me and i ripped it off. X

I am on evorel sequi. On day two of the conti patch and feeling horrible anxious sleepy, digestive issues. I'm off to see gp on Saturday. Not sure if I'm on too high dose as when I halve patch I felt ok but gp said I must not do this.mixed advise. On here told it's okay to do this. Your not alone. Horrible. Finding the right HRT type and dose is the goal

Some find keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.  Reminds us that we do have better days ;-).

Strange how everyone responds differently. I started Evorel Conti about 6 weeks ago but have had absolutely no side effects or changes at all. I was told to use half patches. Is it worth you trying that as a gradual introduction?
