Hi

I am new to the forum. I have had a couple of years of changing from oral HRT which gave me gastric symptoms to evoral conti 50 which just wasn't giving me relief. I have just changed over to EStradot 75 and ultragestan 100 but I noticed the information for estrodot says put the patch on the lower abdomen ? I much prefer the buttock or thigh and i have read a couple of research papers that say the buttock provides bette4 absorption. Can I put estrodot on buttocks or thighs?

Hi Pauline, I wore Estradot patches on buttock as I'd been used to doing that with Evorel Conti & hoped for best absorption/storage as being a skinny minnie I had a little fat on bum but virtually none on thighs.  My levels were never tested on Estradot but when I went back onto EC they were found to be poor on that, so bottom obviously didn't lap it up as I'd hoped!

With any luck lots of other women will be along soon with some good advice.

Btw - welcome to MM & good luck with the Estradot - it sticks well & lots of ladies on here get on well with it.

Having trouble finding a definitive answer but this link might be worth reading as it favours buttocks over abdomen for best absorption though is quite an old study (2000):-

I'm on evorel patches but have found I get very little absorption if I put them on my bottom, they're absolutely fine on my abdomen x

Very interesting Peri - thank you     Have you had bloods done with use at both sites & if so can I ask what was the difference in levels?

Thankyou both it's inter3sting as I had read the stud6bre 20% better absorption on the buttock and I find they crinkl3 up a bit on my abdomen. I might go for the hip in between😁

I went on symptoms and knew they weren't working when on my bottom by how I felt. On my abdomen my level is 388 x

Sorry if a daft question bit where on the abdomen? Im using them on my bottom but would be interesting to try somewhere else as Ive had to add a pump of gel.

I move them about to a different place each time but always under the knicker line x

I wear big knickers lol. Did it take your body time to adjust to changung from your bottom to abdomen?

No the effect was immediate x

Sounds like a pretty good level Peri - I got less than 1/3 of that from Evorel Conti.  Glad to know it works for you.

Mine go on my outer thighs apart from when I'm on holiday in a hot country (don't stick very well) then they go on my shin.

I thought I’d share this - I’ve just figured out that my HRT patch works far better on my tummy than on my hip so if you’re having problems with absorption it’s worth trying different places when applying your patch.
