Help sleeping
« on: May 16, 2019, 10:33:38 AM »

Hi ladies

Was wondering if anyone could recommend an over the counter sleep aid that I could buy?
Am shattered and going away this weekend for my birthday and i really don't want to be so shattered if possible.

Thank you xx

Nytol is quite good and some of the antihistamines are sedating

Hi Robyn, thank you for the info. Do you know if Nytol make me drowsy the next day? Will be doing a lot of driving so I need to be alert x

It doesn't make me drowsy but we're all different. It comes in 2 doses. If you get the 2 a night ones then by taking 1 youre only having half the dose and if you're still awake a few hours later you can always take the second one. its the over the counter ones  that I'm talking about not the herbal nytol off the shelf. That didn't work at all for me x

I find phenergan stronger and feel worse the next day. Maybe buy one or the other and try before you go

I will, great advice and thank you for the birthday wishes. Am off to North Devon with my little boy to celebrate.  Our favourite place 😍

Yes, Nytol or the cheaper own-brand versions (Boots is called SleepEaze I think, Lloyds do one too but I'm not sure what it's called, I'm sure the staff could tell you) I found pretty good. Just don't take them too often or you'll end up not being able to sleep at all without them...

Thank you. Its just for every now and then. I seem to  go through phases of days without much sleep, 2 to 3 hours. I can cope with 5 or 6 x
