Horrendous headache on Utrogestan
« on: April 17, 2019, 07:18:25 AM »

Hi. I switched to the Utrogestan two days ago to accompany two pumps of Oestrogel and last night and this morning I have the headache from hell. It's not a migraine but my god it's painful. I'm now worried that this is going to be how it is every day -which I absolutely couldn't cope with. On the Desogestrel 75mcgs which my doctor incorrectly prescribed as the accompanying Progesterone, I had no side effects whatsoever. Today I have this crippling headache and feel like a zombie.

My question is, is there a chance my side effects will go away as my body gets used to the tablet? Also, is there I way I can go back to the Desogestrel at all? I could cope with the zombie feeling but I definitely can't function with the headaches. If the answer is no, does anyone at all have any advice for what I can do?
I'd be so grateful. I'm in agony currently.  :-\

Edit: it IS a migraine and now I've had to take a Triptan to shift it. I honestly cannot go back to migraines every day. I did read on another post that someone had suggested taking two x Desogestrel but I'm not sure how feasible that is.
Also wondering if the Mirena coil might be another alternative. I am just worried if I have a coil fitted that i continue with the migraines and then I am back to square 1.

I have now feel so depressed and tearful. I had two weeks where I felt joyous and now just feel so shocking

If you're taking utro orally it would be worth trying vaginally. If you're meno rather than peri you could consider a long cycle sequi regime. I think some people use provera. I share your concerns about mirena. It's something I'd like to try when I'm meno rather than peri but I get fatigue with utro so wary of something that might do the same that I can't remove.
