Cough and drop
« on: March 06, 2019, 05:51:21 PM »

Hiya ladies. I've got that bug that's doing the rounds and had realy violent wracking coughing fits for the the last week It's only a virus and I'm taking my asthma meds, honey and lemon and even though im a bit fed up of  constantly wetting myself. It has all happened before and it will pass
but something different to usual is happening: and its worrying me.

Apart from the usual tummy muscle pain with coughing its  causing me pelvic pain and pressure low down I had pelvic surgery 6 months ago. When I go into one of these coughing fits standing up I feel as though my internal organs are going to fall out.

I'm worried it's going to cause a prolapse. I'm scared of it happening and needing more surgery.

Maybe it cant be avoided

Any advice welcome .

I had this cough from October to mid-January. Daily. Nightly.  Do speak to the Surgeon who did the surgery for advice!

Oh TC,
I share your worry when I've got a cough, in case my inardes fall out.
I'd hate to have a prolapse, my mom did, and resulted in a hysterectomy. Many years ago.
I can't offer any advice I'm afraid, but know I'm thinking of you..
Maybe get checked at the doctors, as you've had surgery already......if not anything else, it'll put your mind at rest....you take care, TC, .......xx.   :bighug:

Perhaps lay on the ground as soon as you feel a fit of coughing coming on though for me it was so sudden  :o and went on!

Probably be going through my pockets.

I must admit I did have a bad coughing fit and couldn't get my breath in a shop the other day and the staff were realy nice. I couldn't straighten up and get my breath. It's when the astma kicks in but all I could think about is "at least I've got a tenna lady on. I just hope I dont fart!!!

Hi TC, just read this and hope your cough is better, if not please go to the doctors to sort the cough as it wont help the recent surgery. This happened to my sister after repair and the prolapse didn't completely return but it did drop again slightly. After physio it was ok.

I worked in the NHS and always said that if we dropped to the floor people would walk over us but still expect us to take notes in shorthand  ;D
