Hi all

I had a cervical biopsy for Hyperplasia (not Atypia ) on Monday 25th February, I think he took more than one sample as it hurt. It is now 6 and a half days later and still bleeding, lightly, quite red with some discomfort low down, and having to take paracetamol and ibruprofen.  Should this have settled by now?

Appreciate any advice.

I would suggest that this is 'early' days yet.  Are you resting, feet up, cuppa to hand ;-).  Do you need to return to a clinic or GP?  If by Wed. you are still concerned I would ring your Practice Nurse.

Yes resting today, but was doing a bit of walking yesterday. Thanks for that, it gives me a bit of a guide. Will return to cilinic but only when results are in and I have an appointment.

Yes you should have been given more follow up advice and what to expect.  Hope you feel better soon as it's horrible having these things done to you.

I had my hystercopy nearly 3 weeks ago and I'm still getting cramps. He found fluid in my uterus and drained this so not sure if it's something to do with that or the biopsy.

Like you I feel like I'm being left hanging. At the hystercopy appointment I was in so much pain I just wanted get out of there for a hug. So didn't ask any questions. So I'm not sure if the hospital will contact me to make an appointment or will they just send me a bad news or good news letter.

I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy for post menopausal bleeding a month ago. They removed a cervical polyps
I was asked to stop HRT in case of cancer .apart from the bruising which left me so uncomfortable for a couple of weeks my vaginal atrophy has got much worse - because of bruising? Or lack of HRt?
Am tempted to restart Hrt as results are taking so long and hysteroscopy nurse said she thought polyps was just a polyps and there was no other sign of cancer.My sympathetic Gp is away for two weeks- so do I restart or await?

Thank you all . Seems a lot better this morning. It was just a straight forward biopsy, although I think it was scraped (thats how it felt) about 3 times.

Glad you feel better Pandora. I asked for a general anaesthetic when I had a hysteroscopy and got one. I also was off hrt for 3 waiting for results etc and my VA got worse.  I got cystitis and then uti symptoms after that took almost 6 months to improve and still not there yet. I have been on ovestin for 4 months now.  Awful situation. They didn't seem to be bothered at the hospital.
