Oestrogen levels

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help shed some light on this for me.
I last had my oestrogen levels done last year when I was taking half a patch of everol conti and my levels were only 52. I started two pumps of oestrogel 1-2 months ago and had my levels tested this week and it was 2421 pmol/L!
I was just wondering if perhaps this was because they blood was taken from arm where I apply the gel? It would have been taken 1-2 hours after I applied the gel.

Any thoughts because this sounds like too high a jump!

It most certainly is due to the Oestrogel residue on your arm. I would get the bloods done again, with no gel for at least 8 hours beforehand. To be on the safe side, I would apply the previous day's gel elsewhere, thigh for example.

Thank you both I shall ask to get them repeated and make sure I leave a long gap and apply to the thigh to be safe! Argh I feel silly now!
