My GP is lovely but i think i need to see a menopause specialist .
Quick history - referred by GP for post menopause bleed whilst on Kliovance and Vagifem twice weekly.
Ultrasound and hysteroscopy showed a cervical polyps which was removed three weeks ago.Still waiting for biopsy results.
Have now been off Kliovance for 6 weeks as advised whilst waiting for results and vaginal atrophy now really painful. Have upped Vagifem to every other day but still not as comfortable as when on full Hrt.Also dry itchy skin and eyes.
I want to go back on HRT but preferably not Kliovance as I was starting to get very irritable and wondered if it was the progesterone element.So i would like to try transdermal oestrogen and a kinder progesterone.
My GP is concerned about my blood pressure which at home is 138/80 but higher in the surgery.I am slim and walk 5 miles a day and understand the risk of this higher blood pressure.He also has said he is not up to date with latest menopause advice but is willing to refer me.
I could pay privately. I could go to Dr Louise Newson or Miss Anne Henderson both of whom are a couple of hours by car.The nearest specialist is at SUrrey Park Clinic  - DR Helen Fawcett who is a member of the British Menopause Society.
Has any one any experience or would it be better to go to one or the other of DR Newson or Miss Henderson?

I had a very distressing experience at this clinic, but I saw Dr Whitcroft who I think has now been struck off. I found the reception staff very helpful though. I always look at Google reviews of consultants before I pay privately and made the mistake of not doing this before my first visit there.

I can highly recommend DR Tina Peers, I saw her at Farnham a couple of years back.

I was seen at Surrey Park Clinic for a few years and was very satisfied. Miss Whitcroft has not been struck off, she no longer has a practice at Surrey Park Clinic (which she founded I believe) but has her private practice at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford. I saw her again recently and I like her very much. I have always found her to be kind and sympathetic and very informed. She is very into the effect of diet on all your hormones, she explains how insulin levels affect sleep cycles as well as your sex hormones etc.

I went to The Surrey Park Clinic because I wasn't happy with the hormone therapy I was on. The consultant I saw was very thorough Mrs Atala, she did a scan and blood tests before my treatment and found something and treatment was very professional and a lovely clinic. I would definitely recommend the Surrey park clinic to anyone.
