Tranexamic Acid
« on: January 24, 2019, 08:47:00 AM »

I took this last night, as I was starting to get large clots again.

The side effects are really bad: nausea (which started last night), really bad headache in my left temple/behind my left eye, and pretty crushing fatigue.

I don't know what to do. I have two zero hour shifts in different places today.

I was prescribed TA in 2016. I suffered the digestive side effects straightaway and was unable to continue with it xx

Thank you Agatha. It's horrible, isn't it?

At the moment, it's a toss up: suffer the side effects from the TA, or suffer the clots.

I'm leaving for work in 3 hours.

I have some of my own work to do as well this morning. My normal self would have been up and at it with a ton of energy. Might have even gone out for a short half hour run before starting as well.

At the moment I'm still lying in bed. I'm going to get up and have a bath, iron my uniform, put some nice makeup on and take my time about it, and if I have an hour or 90 minutes left over from that, I'll do some of my own work. Whatever I can manage.

Lol...I was wondering why I could smell smoke all night.

I don't smoke and have never smoked. Very occasionally someone will smoke as they are going up and down the stairs outside, and I can smell it in my flat for a bit. But I could smell this last night (after I took the Tranexamic Acid) and I can still smell it this morning. There's no way it's anyone in my stair outside for that long.

Discovered I'm having an olfactory hallucination, and it's linked to migraines. So that's what my hellish headache is...lol! And it's the Tranexamic Acid that's causing it.

What a laugh.

Hormones can cause alteration of smell - I could smell garbage for the 11 years I was on The Pill.

Funny thing is, I have a terrible, terrible sense of smell normally. Really bad.

The only smell that really bothers me is the smell of smoke. I've always hated it, even as a child. And now, since the smoking ban I've become super sensitive to it. Even if the person is halfway down the road in front of me. It's just instant headache for me.

Hiya. I used to suffer migraines when I was younger and could always tell when one was about to hit cos I could smell burning/smoke.

I once also reported smelling gas and 3 gas vans arrived. Turned out the man opposite had creaasoted his fence.  Embarressed much!!!!

Blimey!

Seriously, such a weird feeing.

I was at work today and a couple of my colleagues that were on my same shift yesterday said I'd looked not myself at all, out of it. They said I was chatty and friendly, as usual, but they could tell something was pretty wrong.

I can still smell the smoke thing occasionally today, and feel OK for the most part - like my best self. But then I totally crumble with tiredness and have to sleep.
