Vagifem update
« on: January 10, 2019, 10:46:21 AM »

Hi ladies......just a quick update i am now 7 days in on my Vagifem journey......symptoms sort of come and go so hopefully it is helping....only thing is i have a terrible headache painkillers take it off a tad but not fully.....i was advised by the nurse practitioner to cut out drinks with tannin in so have not had any tea of which I usually have 6 or more mugs a day 😳....so question is could it be caffeine related or the pesseries?  Would be grateful for any advice xx

It's not likely to be the Vagifem as it's such a very small dose and not absorbed systemically. Caffeine withdrawal perhaps? Hope you feel better soon.

It shouldn't be anything inserted into the vagina which causes a headache.

Stopping tea, coffee etc. can cause bounce back headaches.  As can taking pain relief for 2 long.

Headaches are often caused by dehydration.

One of my lovers says women normally have a headache BEFORE anything is inserted into the vagina. 🤣🤣🤣

Hi

I've just seen your post whereas the others are correct and suddenly decreasing your caffeine intake especially if you drink a lot can give you headaches. When I started taking Vagifem for the first two week load ie when you're taking it every day I had headaches, tender breasts etc kind of like the symptoms I used to get before my period and it is listed as a side effect although I know these leaflets list everything to cover themselves  :) but just thought I would share they did go away after a bit and I don't get them or any pre menstrual symptoms on the twice a week dose but it is important to do the every day for 2 weeks load as that sets everything up.

Cheers

I didn't get any of these symptoms during the first 2 weeks of Vagifem.

I have been drinking mostly decaff tea for quite a while. Lower caffeine  it fine for dunking. I really don't much like camomile or fruit teas.
