Arm tremors
« on: January 03, 2019, 06:27:45 AM »

Hi Everyone
I've seen there have been old posts about tremors, though no one advised what hormonal mechanism e.g too much/little estrogen/progesterone caused it. Some talk of thyroid function.
When I was a lot younger I had various twitching and tingling and parasthesia and a neurologist diagnosed post viral/Epstein Barr/CHF. That gradually got better, but I mention as he said it would never entirely be eradicated and will flare times of stress.
I do not think this is like that. Whilst for a few years I've had slight internal tremor, noticeably in my arms from shoulders to hands, after changing from Evorel Sequi to 1x utrogestan tablet daily and our local version of Estrogel x 2 pumps (and am now on day 15), my hair shedding has improved (yay!), but my arm tremors have gone from barely noticeable to tingly and even some pain every now and then in my right shoulder.
I've noticed a few flushes at night and a few days tendency to wake at night, so wondering if I'm not getting enough estrogen now on my two gel pumps. I'm not 100% sure, but think my anxiety (always an issue for me), May be slightly increased too. Though I would have thought that could indicate relatively lower progesterone. Any similar experiences out there, especially when changing HRT prescription? :-\

Yep.  Someone was discussing this subject yesterday [I think  ::)].  Sorry can't remember the title but didn't want to cut and run.  Maybe do a 'search'?

Thanks, I can only see the one about a hot itchy neck. I searched before and after posting. What I'm really after is whether this needs more or less estrogen or progesterone. Guessing 100% related as I'm worse on this HRT versus the Evorel Sequi. I'm guessing maybe more estrogen, given I'm also having more flushes now.

How is your over-all diet?  Sometimes tremors happen when the body is hungry.  I feel weak first thing until I've eaten breakfast or after exercise without eating enough.

How is it today?

So sorry CLKD for taking more than a month.
It's not too bad at the moment, thanks for asking 😊, though I have just found my estradiol wasn't being absorbed well, but who knows.

I think that my diet is relatively good and I don't relate it to long gaps before or after food.

Tremor can be caused by anxiety and adrenal fatigue. How is your mental health?

I am an anxious person in general. I ‘run' in a high anxiety/fidgety type way. Not sure how to explain it 😂 Neurologist I went to a year ago for concussion said I'm ADHD, which I'd already thought myself.
I'm sure there's a connection somewhere, though the tremor doesn't go away when I'm feeling calm. I actually asked the neurologist about the tremors at the time and he said everyone has a ‘resting' tremor. But I'm sure mine has got a lot worse.
