Update on Sandrena gel, and bleeding
« on: December 17, 2018, 07:18:48 PM »

Hi ladies.
As you all know, I've been using Sandrena 1mg every day along side Femoston Conti since August.
All was good at the start, amazing I would say, it made me feel great, I had more energy than ever, my overall self was great. Yeah I still had blip days, I suppose, but they didn't last long, and they was never as bad as I've had before.
However, about 3/4 weeks ago, I started to feel ‘not right'. Then one day after I'd got up, had horrendous stomach cramps, bloating, and my back was killing me, then the bleed started.
It was really bad, worse than when I had regular periods like about 4 years ago.
Went to doc, she sent me for a scan, which was ok, everything was normal, which was a great relief,
and was told by my doc to carry on with the regime I was on, as bleeding can happen on hrt, which I knew already, so I did.
But the Sandrena made me feel really poorly. Can't describe how I felt, just felt ill.
So I've stopped it.!It's been about 3 days now, and I feel sooo much better, nearly back to my normal self, except for a little bit of spotting still, which looks like it's going to stop quite soon, as each day has got less and less.
So for me now, it's just the Femoston Conti.
I always thought that if you struggle at the beginning of a new hrt, to give it 3/6months then if your body doesn't except it then to change to another, in this case , it's been the other way round.
I always thought I was back to front......🙀
Just thought I'd let you all know...
Hope your all well.....

ahh sorry to hear that Jillydoll - just when you thought you had it sorted.  Maybe your levels were up high enough now to keep going with the femoston on its own.  I think I posted for RoseEnglish that it can take a while for the body to actually get back to it's optimum level to function and then I suppose it can go the other way and you have too much oestrogen.

You will just have to see how you go...keep us posted.

What a shame jillydoll, but at least your scan was good. Perhaps the Sandrena 1g was a bit much for you, maybe the 0.5g would have been better, less of a big hit. Or what about Oestrogel? It would be easier to get a lower dose. Glad you are feeling better anyway, hope it lasts over Christmas!

Hi jillydoll

Sorry to hear this but it must be reassuring that everything was ok with the scan.
I would carry on with the Femoston conti for now and review in the New year if the old problems are being to surface (fingers crossed they don't) you could maybe consider something else.

Thanx ladies.
I am disappointed, but I'm doing ok on the femoston at the mo.
Like Ladybt says, maybe that's because my levels are up, so I'll just have to wait
and see what happens next, if anything does at all.
I'm just hoping I will get through Xmas without any problems, but I can't think
like that, I'm going to be positive. 🤞
