At what point do these happen?

How far along am I?

How long is this nightmare going to last?

I expect you will get lots of “everyone's different” answers.

I'm 4(?) years into perimenopause at 46/47 years old.

I have tons of crappy symptoms. No night sweats but hot moments and insomnia. I just get up and do jobs. Might as well be tired and productive as opposed to just tired.

Getting through it (barely) by walking night and morning.

Lots of love to you, Focus xx

I have insomnia too. I'm used to that. as I had it for 7 years while I had the worst of PTSD.

Then my ex husband left, 3 and a bit years ago. And he divorced me.

I am fine from that too now, and getting on with my life.

And now I'm lumbered with this? I really can't stand this.

I started night sweats age 32, after my hysterectomy (ovaries failed), I went on hrt and have been now for 20 years.  Whenever my oestrogen dips the night sweats return, so i reckon mine would be for life ! X

So, home last night after work and felt really cold...chilled inside. Made myself a hot water bottle and went to bed.

Fell asleep fine (listening to a guided meditation for sleep...the best).

Woke up, not sure what time, maybe about 5.00am, more drenched in sweat than normal. My nightshirt was absolutely dripping with sweat.

Never had it that bad before in my life, even when I've been really, really ill.

Managed to fall asleep again no problem. Even managed to have a laugh at myself.

Heaven knows how it's going to be when my fiancé is in bed with me over the weekend..lol!

Focus sending you a big hug, the sweats have been the worst issue of my never ending meno, I am 69 now and they started when I was around 48/49 >:(

Sadly most ladies suffer 2years, I fully understand the red hot feeling then freezing cold.. :'(  xx

Angel since starting Femseven Conti, my day sweats only appear on very hot days, so I do have some social life now, my night sweats are no where near as bad as pre HRT I still get a sticky flush almost every hour, but just put fan on for 2-3mins and they pass, but I cool down to a feeling of shivers....however waking every hour does leave me so blooming tired, some nights I take a sleeping tab which works for 4hrs, then flushes win again!!

I tried stopping HRT about 3years ago got to day 18 and sweats back with a vengeance 24/7 !! so following year tried to 'wean off'  by cutting patches in half did this for 3 weeks and got day/night time very hot 'flushes' but 4th week did not use last 1/2 of patch, 2 nights later full sweats back same throughout the day making me feel so sick, so had to use another full patch, 'next' night just flushes not sweats, so I know the HRT is stopping the sweats, but doesn't regulate my body heat when I fall to sleep :(

I truly never expected to be having flushes and sleepless nights nearly 21 years on, sadly I am not on my own, lots of other ladies on here going through the same  :'(

Hope you have had a better day today.. :-*

Agree Rosebush, the night sweats really have made my life difficult.  Went into surgical meno after hysterectomy 8 years ago (will be 60 next year) and even on HRT patch (everol 25) every night is a disturbed one.  My husband says he knows where the saying 'the old boiler' comes from now!  Its crazy in the midst of winter to only have a 4 tog duvet on and still have to chuck it off but then as you say get the shivers cold sweats, can't be good for us.

Max I still use a 4.5 tog duvet in mist of Winter, and after night flush and use of fan for 2-3mins it does take about 10mins before I feel warm again, hubby has a single duvet on his side of the bed under our king 4.5tog, bed looks a bit lumpy,  but during Winter he said the bedroom is like a freezer, bless him.. ::)

Agree Stellajane, I did mention once to the doctor my Mum had awful night sweats and it turned out she had hodgkins lymphoma, yes she was in her early 70's by then but these things do cross your mind :( Think I will be on HRT for long while yet.  Maybe more research needed.
