With you Foxylady.  We are being buffeted by Atlantic storms here too. Think it is looking up later in the week.
Had a weekend in Dundee last weekend to visit the new V & A there. Loved Dundee. Waterfront area all done up
and nice museums/restaurants/friendly folks.

Wish I was in Bruges sipping hot chocolate...

Anyone been to the Bulgarian Black sea coast?

We had a lovely week in Bratislava last June; beautiful city (and pound goes a long way!).
Croatia looks nice but pricey.

Was looking at Slovinia but hard to get to and we fancy a beach holiday this time.

You are right Squeaker99, Dundee is our new favourite day trip. Not been to the V&A yet but will visit at some point. The town centre of Dundee has had a great face lift, there is a lovely cafe/coffee shop along from the uni called The Tartan coffee House, Perth Rd, worth a visit. We go there for lunch then fish tea in one of the fishing villages in Fife on way home, perfect day!!

They must've done it up a lot? Dundee was always the running joke with it being such a dump,I used to go there from Aberdeen many years ago and it was really awful,so nice to hear they've given it a face lift

Total revamp, roads have been changed etc, it's great now. I remember it being like that jaypo, inlaws from that neck of the woods so used to be there fairly regularly. x

We went to Slovenia on our honeymoon 21yrs ago now & how cheap it was, you could get a filled roll for 50p! We keep meaning to go back, as we love lakes & mountain holidays with all the beautiful walking. We managed Lake Garda a few years ago, otherwise last 8/9 years we've been on villa holidays in Majorca, Lanzarote, Greek Islands etc as our son isn't a keener walker, unlike when he was younger and he loved climbing the hills/mountains of Austria! We have Slovenia in our sights for 2021 going back to the same hotel. I agree with you about Croatia we would love to go!

Don't think so.  It was boats or helicopters taking them to see the Island.  Some had walked to the crater, never expecting it to growl and spit  :-\.  Talk about when your Number is Up!  The helicopter has disappeared in a cloud of dust  :'(

Royal Carribean Ovation of the Seas is the cruise ship, excursions from the ship were visiting the island :(

Another cruise ship, P & O Ventura has engine problems and is stuck in Tenerife while it's being repaired, apparently they are flying people home who need to get back, but the next cruise due to leave Southampton on Friday has been cancelled.  A good point I picked up when reading about this delay, always take more days worth of medication than you need, just in case, and ALWAYS carry it on you never pack it, cases to go astray sometimes  ::)
