My sister lived there for 19 months in the early 1990s.  Do you want to see bears, whales, snow .......

Yes, most definitely.  We did a fly drive, starting in Vancouver, then up through the Rockies, and flew out from Calgary.

Coast is lovely around Vancouver.  There is a beautiful park.  Lots of things to do and you can even take a trip in a sea plane.

If you get the chance go to Vancouver Island.  We have not been there but friends have.  Quite amazing apparently, with lots of wildlife.

We went in June so lots of Mosquitoes.

Canadians very friendly.

And me.

Depends when you go though.

Also okay by the coast and up the mountains.

Victoria, the main city on Vancouver Island, is very British. It's a nice town and the island is a lovely place to explore. Personally didn't like the city of Vancouver at all, and didn't feel safe there, but the surrounding areas are nice.

We preferred Nova Scotia, especially the trail that goes round the edge of Cape breton island which had amazing scenery. Halifax was probably our favourite city in Canada and it's a much shorter flight!

Weather was good. I think we only had one rainy day in the 10 days.

I liked Vancouver when I went there way back in about 1995.
Athabascar Glacier was lovely as was Black comb mountain where I saw a brown bear whilst coming down the mountain in a chair lift...bloody amazing.
If you go to Victoria I thoroughly recommend the whale watching trip. I wept. I was speechless when we saw orca whales coming out of the water & diving back in with a great big splash.
Not much goes on otherwise on the island it is very peaceful.
In Jasper I saw a mousse walk over a zebra crossing just outside the main town. Lake Louise & Banf also beautiful.
Amazing country & unbelievable scenery.

:thankyou:  friends did a specific train ride across Canada including Jaspar and Banff ........ took about 3.5 weeks and they could get off occasionally if they wanted to explore a particular area.

You Numpty!  ;D ;D

I'm good thanks jillydoll - how are you?

Love reminiscing over my holidays. Went to some fantastic places back in the 90's. Sadly I don't get abroad so much these days as no spare money. The last time was about 5 years ago to Croatia.
