Hello me again
I'm ready for running miles away as this menopause journey is relentless
Doc changed me last week from Evore-conti patches as they no longer were helping after being on them around7/8 months , hot flushes mood swings , tears, emotions all over the place just generally feeling flat inside
He put me onto Femoston-conti and I have been feeling rough from day after I started them , sweats panic anxiety and dirrihea none stop

I'm post menopause 4 years and I'm feeling worse now than I did pri-meno and the last 4 yrs

Anyone any information on how they get on taking Femoston?
I know we are all different but this is my 4th hrt tab over last 4 years and none seem to be suiting me

Any info would be greatful

Would anyone be able to tell me why my GP has told me to wait a full week after stopping Femoston before going back onto my evorl conti patch ?
I asked why should I wait a week but he couldn't tell me why ??
Doc really need to know more about menopause and hrt as my GP is totally clueless
I'm ready for going crazy here !!

Hi Karen, sorry can't comment on the patches. I've only ever taken tablets, I'm on my third different one & just changed straight from one to the other. May be the gap is to let you have a bleed if there is anything there ?  I'm now on a sequential routine that has 7 days off for that reason, suits me much better than the conti's I've tried.

I'm post menopause 4 years so I don't get a bleed , it seems my body just don't like hrt pills , as they cause lots of side effects plus bleeding which can last few weeks ..
Doc said on the phone this morning " it just seems you can't use the hrt pills " so il go back to my patch  which isn't great but it's better than using nothing
Just can't understand why he's told me to wait a week to restart the patch , I'm clueless regarding hrt and my doc seems to be also

Maybe it's because of the different type of oestrogen/progesterone?
Maybe he thinks it'll be better when it's out of your system before starting
another type?
I'm only guessing, can't think of any other reason.....

I'm clueless on hrts that contain progesterone but have you tried separate oestrogen patch or gel and the progesterone tablet ? Inserted vaginally gives fewer side effects x

I don't seem to be able to use the hrt tabs as I've been given 4 in past 4 yrs and all had horrible side effects, I used the patch for around 8months it helped great at start but around a month back all symptoms returned so I went to GP to ask fir a different patch , he could get a patch to suit me (his words ) so give me Femoston pill same as the other 3 pills the side effects were awful so now I'm back to old patch again guess it's better than nothing as it did help with sweats ..

It's a rollercoaster this menopause thought longer I was post menopause it would of got easier but it don't seem to be working that way
Getting really fed up with it now as I suffered pri menopause for 6 yrs

Guess your right it's to kept the Femoston clear out of my system but thought he might of told me that !! Instead he couldn't give me a reason !!
I'm going give it 5 days break then go back to patches as the hot flushes have hit me fast

KarenMax, have you thought about using an oestrogen only patch? They come in strengths ranging from 25 - 100mcg of oestrogen. I'm on the 75mcg but am thinking of levelling up to 100 as some of the symptoms are starting to reappear....

If you separate the oestrogen out, then you can take the progesterone separately, Utrogestan seems to be the best tolerated - you can take 100mg orally or vaginally, as a conti regime. Or if you want a ‘cycle' you take 200mg orally for 12 days xx. It might be worth a try if the combined patch isn't doing it for you (I react really badly to  the progesterone in those). Good luck with it all xx

My doc isn't giving me anything else apart from hrt pills it the patch , he don't seem o know great deal about menopause or hrt
I'm clueless with hrt myself .
The patch isn't great for me but it does help a little so il go back to using that and see how things go , I'm fed up going to see doctor who just looks at me as if I've 2 heads .
I'm waiting to have hysterectomy done as I have bad prolaspe plus bladder and bowel repair to be done so I will hopefully get that done soon and then my hrt will change after op

I honestly thought the longer menopause went on the earlier it got 🙈 Don't seem to be the way it works as I feel worse now than I done 2 yrs ago

Have you looked under the info tabs above - there's a section called ‘treatmets'  You might be able to print them off and take them to your doc - sometimes it's up to us to teach our health professionals too xx

Or, you could email Dr Currie (the speacialist who set up this page) - it costs about £25 or £30, and she might be able to advise you on what to say to your doc xx

I printed things from here last year and showed my doc his reply was "I go buy the medical book which the meno clinic use " what a crock of crap he talks !!
Il ho back onto the everol patch when the 7days are up (this Saturday) just at minute I'm feeling awful as hormones seem to be all over the place my mood is so low motivation has gone I just feel so awful

Can anyone tell me what would happen if I used my patch now instead of starting it on Saturday?
Been in everol conti patch for 7/8 months GP changed me to Femston conti used it for 7days was causing anxiety and headaches so doc told me to go back to my patch but wait 7days before using it
I'm ready for going crazy here as my anxiety is through roof hit flushes every 15mins and just feel pure 💩

If I put patch on now would it cause me more problems?
