Hi Muzza - hopefully this thread will tell you the information you need to know:
https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,39588.msg627850.html#msg627850
Tostran is twice as concentrated as Testim gel and you have been taking a higher than average dose I would say - I presume you have your levels tested regularly? Maybe you have no ovaries so needing more?

Thanks Hurdity
No I still have my ovaries, Im 47 I have the mirena coil, evorel 100 patches and the the testim gel.
So basically I need to half the dose of what I normally have of the testim gel ?
Never had a proper hormone level test, they never seem to want to do it here. I even had a testosterone
implant put in during the summer and it came out intact after 4 months !
thanks for all your advice xx

Yes half the amount provdied it is absorbed in a similar way - but as it's more concentrated then it's less ideal as you could get more peaks and troughs in T levels. The info on the other thread I linked to will tell you how much gel is in each pump and how much T per pump. The Chelsea and Westminster hospital leaflet recommends starting at two pumps per week of Tostran rising to no more than 3 if necessary if I recall. Also you may absorb this differently due to the different products it's mixed with.

Hello,
I'm also seeking advice on Tostran.
At my request GP has prescribed Tostran to improve my libido and help with lack of energy/aches & pains.
I have a Mirena cool and use Sandrena gel daily.
Previously (2 years ago) prescribed Testogel by Annie Evans but didn't use more than a few weeks as felt edgy on it.
Keen to have another try now but GP & pharmacist unclear as to dosage.
Reading through your helpful posts here I think I have 2 options:
1: 1 full pump every 2/3 days
Or
2: I corn kernel (or half a split pea sized) pump daily.
Keener or the latter (easier to remember and avoid a ‘big' dose every few days)
Can anyone suggest which is preferable? And where I should apply? Buttocks? Thighs? Shoulders? Inner arm? Tummy?
Thank you.
