« on: November 27, 2018, 05:09:37 PM »

Hi Ladies

apparently AndroFeme®1 is testosterone for women.

Can all Doctors in the UK get hold of it?

No sadly. Private specialists have it imported from Australia

It's also not licensed in this country hence private prescription only - at great expense - not only for the consultation but also the cream is v expensive I gather too.

Thanks Hurdity,

Dr Newson is using it, seems a shame that more specialists don't prescribe it as it is specially for women. I wonder how much more expensive it is in comparison to the other testosterones and also if there is a chemical difference making it more female friendly ?

Hi

I am using it.  I paid  £113.00 for a private prescription.  :o I think the tube is supposed to last about 3 months.

I am using it.  It's very easy to use every day and is designed in female strength doses.  No guessing blob sizes.  But it is expensive as Jeepers says.  But at .5ml a day the tube lasts 3 months.

Is it possible for me to ask my private GP to prescribe it, or is it only available from specialists?

You still need a doctors prescription though.  I tried to get it and my GP refused saying it was in a red zone (whatever that means) so they couldn't prescribe. Interestingly I had no trouble getting Testim which is really for men, ironic isn't it.  Hopefully given time and the higher profile meno is getting this will change in the future x

Thanks Ladies,

Quite frankly it is postively shocking that yet again women are being treated like second class  citizens,-  although it is privately expensive, The cost is surely not prohibitive for the NHS.  It just seems that the menopause is not important- It should be as it effects 50% of the population. Time for a change.

You're welcome dear.
Here's an interesting comparison of some testosterone gels.

Hello pepperminty,

I hope you can get your GP to prescribe it. I'm sure it's only a matter of time (and lots of paperwork and big corporate deals) to have it available in the UK, after all gender differences are just a matter of quantity when it comes to testosterone.
