UTI type symptoms
« on: November 02, 2018, 11:29:26 AM »

Hi ladies,
Feel I must share my peri experience with you
Have seen nurse/ doctor with uti type symptoms loads of times recently.
Only to be told there was no infection, so basically nothing they can do
Persistent what can only be described as a scratchy type feeling in my nethers
Having read up on here have come to conclusion it must be atrophy causing this
Having tried SILK etc, did nothing for me to relieve symptoms
Found Balance Active pessaries have really helped, and also Bearberry extract tablets
Shame nhs were not really helpful
But glad this forum and uncle Google were xx

Hi and welcome to mm Marta
You need some local vaginal oestrogen and the nurse should have known this. You have urogenital
Atrophy that often starts when meno hits. Vagifem is the easiest to use and do keep using the SYLK daily hasthat will help as well. I find using Multi Gyn Actige a couple of time a weekl helps to keep the flora balance good as well. Avoid caffiene, tannins, fruit juice and acolhol but drink plenty of water. DG x

Your Surgery is negligent!  Have a read of the vaginal atrophy threads here and make notes.  Take to your Nurse Practitioner and discuss ;-).

Let us know how you get on!!

Atrophy mimics urine infection-type symptoms really well which medical profession simply don't realise  :bang:

Get a copy of Me and my Menopausal Vagina and take to your GP ;-)
