medichecks menopause blood test

Hello...I've used private blood test companies before when my gp was being typically unhelpful but has anyone successfully used one for menopause. my symptoms over the last 6 years all point to perimenopause and or hypothyroidism...cut a long story short I'm still battling to see an endocrinologist through my gp getting nowhere and have now been diagnosed w8th high cholestrol despite eating very healthy being slim exercising etc..I know thyroid problems can cause high cholesterol which I'm on with trying to sort but I also know fluctuating hormones affect cholestrol too so I was going to get a private menopause one done too. is there a best time of the month to take it. thank you

Maybe ring an endo and ask how much private consult would be, I believe that we can self refer to some specialities?

Blood tests for menopause usually focus on FSH and sometimes oestrogen levels. This is best done on days 3-5 of the natural menstrual cycle. If you are taking HRT then the results won't be "true". Thyroid disease diagnosis is notoriously badly covered by NHS in UK - member SueLW knows a lot about this so maybe search for her name and thryoid and see what comes up or scroll through her posts?
