Women are being warned against risky cosmetic "rejuvenating" procedures to reshape and tighten the vagina.

Experts say the "therapies", offered by some private clinics in the UK and the US, pose a serious risk of burns, scarring and recurring pain.

Typically during these procedures, a probe is inserted into the vagina to heat or laser the vaginal tissue.

Although it is non-surgical and can be done in a lunch hour, it is not necessarily safe, say officials.



I believe that any procedure that enters an bodily orifice is in the UK, considered 'surgical'.  What are women thinking about    I wonder what type/s of training these practitioners need to undergo

So what age group might this procedure be aimed at exactly?

I'd suspect post-childbirth when things are, let's say, more capacious....

That's what I have had done Mona Lisa Touch , which has helped my VA hugely ( and the ladies in my VA group are either a bit better / a lot better / 2 no different .

The problem is every Tom Dick and Harry are having it done , and many of those won't be suitable , also need an  extremely qualified gynae to do it.

MLT has allowed vagifem to work really well now , where before treatment I could not use it .

It is being trialled by a NHS hospital .

I have seen the article floating around , it's a bit like teeth whitening so many unqualified people doing it when only a dentist should.

The V tightening is being done for those who should not / do not need it , and by doing that will cause problems I believe ( not certain ) a “ beauty “ type salon was offering it ? Thats madness, they also only talk about tightening which thebpress seem obsessed about .

I don't know about the other types that are used I only know about MLT , whom I contacted when the article came out a couple of days ago.

Only gynaes should do it , as you need to be internally and externally examined first and they need to know what there looking for.

Ablations are another procedure that is very 😳 IMO and I would never want one of those , that really is burning the skin and I wonder if cancers are not being observed soon enough due to what the procedure does to the lining of the womb , as blessing is very often a first sign whereas this stops it , is it therefore stopping early detection ?

    why would anyone go through an intimate procedure ............. unless absolutely necessary ?  .  It's not as though the Whole World is going to see down there ...........
