Elleste Duet and mood swings
« on: June 25, 2018, 12:42:54 PM »

Hi. I'm new to the forum and I'm really hoping for some advice. I'm 51 and started taking Elleste Duet 1mg, last August. I'd been on the mini pill for around 12 years and only had occasional bleeds while taking it so I've no idea if my periods had stopped naturally or not,
The night sweats stopped after two weeks and my night anxiety after a few weeks and my mood did improve for a while. Unfortunately I am getting more angry, snappy and unpredictable. My relationship is suffering, my partner is completely fed up with me now. I can't get to see my gp until next week and although she is very nice she didn't know much about hrt, her words, I didn't know what my options are regarding different types. I'd asked originally if gels and patches were better than tablets but she said no as they are better for physical problems such as dryness etc. if I can swap to tablets that don't make me feel crazy, ideally without migraines, always suffered with them although they'd been getting less frequent before I started elleste, now I get them when I'm due to bleed and during. I'd had bleeds that start the second day of a new pack and lasts for four/ five days. This last one began when I had four days of the green pills left and lasted eight days. Is this normal?
I'm sorry for the long rambling post, any advice and help would be much appreciated.

Hello Rabbit and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately I don't have the expertise to advise you about HRT but I'm sure some knowledgeable ladies will be along soon. I did want to send my sympathies though as I am having some horrible mood swings myself atm and I'm finding them very distressing.

Sending hugs and keep posting.

Thanks Kathleen. I feel like a wicked witch sometimes so I'm really hoping there's something that can improve me, get me back to my old self. 😊
