Not sure when my day 14 to 28 of my cycle is?
« on: July 30, 2018, 11:48:35 AM »

I'm on my 3rd month using oestrogel every day and I'm supposed to take my utrogestan on day 14 to 28 of my cycle. The first month I started my withdrawal bleed on day 25, soma bit early but I wasn't concerned, 2nd cycle, it all worked as it should with my withdrawal bleed happening a day after the last tablet on day 28, but this cycle, I started to bleed on about day 10 of my cycle, before I'd even started the utrogestan? It's a proper bleed like a period. I started the progesterone on what would have been day 14 of my 2nd cycle and the bleed is tapering off.... but where do I go from here? I'm not sure what to count as day 1 anymore? I'm off on my holiday tomorrow so would rather not mess up my hormones or cycle anymore and I really don't want a period either whilst I'm away? Any advice?

I don't have the answer but I have the same problem. 6 cycles so far, the first 3 on everol sequi, 2 bleeds shortly after starting progesterone, 1 after finidhing it. Next 3 cycles on oestrogel/utrogeston, 1st one bled after 2 days on utro, 2nd cycle bled 2 days after starting utro & another one 2 days after finishing it, 3rd cycle had a week of utro & no bleed yet. Like you my normal cycle seems to be completely out of sync with the HRT imposed cycle. I am hoping someone has some advice!

If you are peri meno then your own cycle may be kicking in - this would make your womb lining build up and a spontaneous bleed will start. The other thing to consider is that it's early days and it can take at least 3-6 months for the body to adjust to this HRT regime.
Another thing to consider is -  perhaps try a different progesterone as Utrogestan isn't very stable so not as good at controlling things as the synthetic progesterones. Many women prefer Provera.

Lastly - perhaps try using the Utrogestan vaginally (although if you are bleeding this may not work) as this delivers the progesterone more directly to where it is needed and this may make things settle better.  Simply push the capsules high up inside the vagina before bedtime.
I had all sorts of problems with spotting, bleeding and cramps with Utrogestan, so had to stop using it. DG x
