Hi all my first time here to this useful forum. I am nearly 54 and on the last month went onto Femoston conti, the low dose I think. I've had two periods and further spotting on the first month. I've also had backache nearly all the time and low mood, maybe because of the continuos progesterone. I don't like it all and it's so hard to see my doc to discuss it. My question is should I start on the next month or stop and go back to the elleste duet which I quite liked. Thanks for any tips sisters

Many women can't tolerate progesterone all the time. Erratic bleeding is normal in the first 3-6 months on any Conti hrt.
If you got on ok with a sequi hrt then I would stick with that - many women stay with sequi HRT well into their 50 and 60s. DG x

Hi and thanks for such a swift reply.  I only decided to try something else as on the green pills/ progesterone stage of elleste, I got a bit PMT like but I knew it was coming and could manage it.

One more quick question - I've only been using the femoston for a month- is it ok to swap back to the elleste so soon. I don't really want another 2 months of the symptoms that I had on femoston. Thanks

It's fine to simply switch back. You may get some bleeding or spotting while your body adjusts but this should settle. It's often better to simply stick with the hrt that is working well for you. DG x
