« on: May 31, 2018, 11:06:45 AM »

Finally plucked up the courage to post.
Dr prescribed Evorel Conti Paches, prevention going forward bones.

Early menopause, age 43 period stopped. (Jan 2013)
5 years post menopause, Horrendous.
Changed Dr's, new Dr informs me I should have been put on HRT because of my age.
Benefits outway negative.
I have been told, I can use until age 55.

First patch put on yesterday.
Would be lovely to hear from anyone using these.

Hi and welcome to MM
Your new doctor is absolutely right and your old doctor should have his or her hands slapped!!!!!

You do need HRT to protect you heart and bones for the long term and there is now no deadline fro stopping HRt provided you don't have nay health issues adn fully understate that there are slight increased risks if still using HRT beyond 60.

The patches can be good but it can also be trial and error till you find a HRT that suits you.
Give them a go, let us know how you get on and get back to us for support if you need advice or help.
BE prepared for some side effects at first - sore breasts, tingling of your lady bits etc. as this is your body waking up and welcoming the hormones. It may take 3-6 months to settle and some bleeding or spotting in the first few months is not unusual.

Keep posting. DG x

Hi Dancinggirl,
Thank you so much.
I have really struggled through the last 5 years.
Flushes, tears, mood swings, constantly tired, retreated from friends & family as I thought was just going mad.
Blood test confirmed post menopause, then I was told I was managing really well and to keep going. It would be over soon.

Changed Dr's.

I'm not sure how I will react to patch.
Thank you for your reply & I now have an idea of what to expect whilst my body is adjusting to hormones.

I can't remember what "normal" feels like.

Will keep posting. EP x
