Think it’s definitely Testosterone not agreeing

I've been on the Testogel on alternate days for a week. I'm going to stop it the days I'm on it I feel nauseous and a bit headachey.

I know people say it takes months for it to affect you.I definitely feel off on it.

Sorry to hear that.  I am dg leue to start on testogel next week (when I get the prescription).  Do you think it's worth just using less perhaps after you've had a break?

Hi Burchers - sorry to hear this.  Just to clarify, like oestrogen, testosterone acts on two levels - the first level where it binds to receptors on the cell membrane, you may well notice the effects very quickly (as with oestrogen). It is the epi-genetic effects where the results take time. This is where the hormone is transported into the cell nucleus, binds to receptors and affects which proteins are produced in that caell - which will be different in different tissues.

How much have you been using and are you taking oestrogen as well?

Hi I'm on FemSeven Conti patches and Estriol doing daily.
I am very sensitive to medication. It really made me feel ghastly was doing a pea size alternate days.

Sorry to hear that Burchers. I think the other thing to consider and which I don't think there is any information about - is the effect of taking additional testosterone when you are taking an androgenic progestogen already. As far as I know the gyanes who prescribe testosterone do so along wioth estradiol and progesterone so all three hormones are bio-identical. I am wondering for example how the levonorgestrel in the Femseven interacts with the testosterone in terms of receptors and how that might translate into how one feels? Just thinking aloud as I have no answers!

Sounds very technical. All I know is that I felt worse on it.

I just wish I could find something that completely works.

Hi Burchers, I'm in the same club as you - was expecting great things from testosterone but it makes me feel terrible, in my case really depressed. I've tried Testim, Testogel and Tostran and they all have the same result. Like you I'm also very sensitive to medications in general - can't take ADs, beta blockers etc., they all make me depressed. And Hurdity, I'm on all bio-identical hormones so not sure about your theory. x
