I am really worried because back in January I had my estrogen levels checked and the reading came back over 1000! I therefore reduced ostogel down from 3 pumps to 1 and 1/2 as advised by my meno consultant. 
She was very surprised the levels were so high and commented that she had another patient who had also had a level around the same time of over 3000 and even questioned the hospital.

I had another blood test a few weeks later and this read 184, I had another last week and this had come back at 2262 again doctor said this is very high and to repeat again.

I am really worried as my levels have never been this high and even though I have reduced ostogel it doesn't make sense!

I am post menopausal, 47, early meno at aged 41, tried several different forms of hrt with no end of problems.  Now have mirena and use ostrogel thought I had cracked it but now not so sure.

Just a thought Jobo, but where do you apply the Oestrogel? If it is applied to the arms, and the blood sample is taken from the same arm, this will distort the results. It is best to apply it to the thighs on the day you are going to have the bloods taken.

Thank you Daisydot, but wouldn't you think Jobo's consultant might have figured that one out? These people have brains the size of planets, but no common sense. (I used to work with people like that!)

My thoughts exactly JP especially as she said she had another lady with very high levels and thought it was a bit strange!

Yes JP I think they lose their ability to think like the professional they were trained to be when the big bucks get in the way.
I actually made a point if not putting any gel on this morning before my bloods were done as I didn't want it to influence my thyroid tests,now if us,as mere joe bloggs,can think like that why can't the gifted people think like that because they are gifted to be working in the areas they are working in maybe if people like you or I had those same opportunities the world would be a kinder place eh??
Good luck Jobo and I'd leave off the gel that morning just to satisfy your curiosity.xx

My private HRT doc only does blood tests if the cream has been applied more than 8 hours ago otherwise it distorts the results - so this makes perfect sense 😃

Thanks everyone had blood today and made sure no gel applied on arm and also well after 8 hours of application.
