Palpitations and HRT
« on: April 14, 2018, 02:04:35 PM »

Hi ladies, I have suffered with palpitations since peri now post menopause, I was hoping the patches I've been prescribed would maybe at least reduce them, but reading the leaflet it states palpitations are one of the side effects noooooo! I can't cope with more palps.

Has anyone any advice thanks.

Chrissy99, do you know what is causing your palpitations? Have you had any investigations?

Patches on a higher dose made my palps worse.  But I'm fine with the gel, I am post meno and for me they've calmed right down

Not everyone gets all the side effects so it's worth trying x

My palpitations have improved on HRT patches so give it a chance.

Thanks ladies, I have had all the investigations done over the years, they just seem to be getting worse post meno. I'm going to give the patch a try and see what happens...interesting about the gel, I did ask gp about this but she didn't even know there was a gel!! apparently every time I go to see her I educate her.... and I'm not that clued up, think it might be time to change my gp.

During the two (dreadful) occasions I had to stop HRT my palpitations have come back really quickly.
