Everol 50 & irritabliity
« on: March 20, 2018, 04:51:47 PM »

Hi
Im on my third week of Everol 50 (Estrodial) and have started feeling really irritable and snappy. Im usually a bit grumpy for a few days around what would be my cycle (had a hysterectomy so no actual signs) but this is lasting a lot longer.
Has anyone else had any irritability with Everol?
Thanks x

Hi clairebear67

I have been on evorel conti 50 patches for 10 years on and off for a break but didn't notice any change in my mood in fact I am a little better on it than off because it helps with night sweats so Im Getting more sleep which is big factor for me so not sure what might making you irritable make a note of when you feel like this and when you go for a review let the doctor or nurse know In case it's the progesterone in the hrt making you feel like that but being on it for only 3 weeks isn't really long enough for this hrt to take effect really you have to,give it good 2 months to see any difference in symptoms  good luck with it but do make notes would be my advice that's what I do because I find I forget what happened yesterday let alone 2weeks a go and now I felt another meno thing I think 🤪😝

Clairebear67 - early days yet for you. The oestrogen hasn't had a chance to really do its magic and I doubt it's the source of feeling irritable.
Lucky you that you don't have to have progesterone, as this can give fluctuations in mood.
Give things time - the oestrigen should make you feel generally better but life can make one feel irritable and as we age we can become less tolerant as well.
Do try some Mindfulness - I find this very helpful when I feel irritable or stressed. DG x

Hi Clairebear,

I started on Everol 25 and felt massively  irritable and aggressive even on that dosage. I quit because I found i couldn't bear feeling like that - I'm not sure my body is quite ready for it yet so am using Emerita Estriol bio id cream instead. Within 12 hours of removing the patch I felt as though a cloud had lifted and felt much lighter in myself. I guess some of us are more sensitive to hormonal supplementation than others so I hope you can find a work around as it's really unpleasant suffering those symptoms. Perhaps reduce dosage and try to work up or investigate a different brand/source. Good luck!

I have been irritable on the oestrogen component of hrt. Some are much more sensitive to medications and I think if you're still peri and having oestrogen surges that can play a part.  Not sure if that would apply to you though with a hysterectomy. I would persevere as it did wear off with me eventually. But  I also take magnesium which has a relaxing effect. X

Annie's,

Please report back on how you get on with the Emerita cream as was just reading about it on Amazon and saw positive reviews. Once I go through meno I wanted to use the low dose oestrogen so very interested thanks.
