Hi ladies. I've tried researching this on the internet but am no nearer an answer so thought I'd ask the experts instead ! :-) I'm on the 2nd month of Elleste Duet and seem to have sprouted some tough old chin hairs :-( Do the tablets contain Testosterone by some other name? What I'm reading on line suggests too LITTLE Progesterone can cause this but as I've recently increased my progesterone level by starting HRT is it just co-incidence that this has happened now or is something else behind it? I'm confused. Thanks in anticipation x

Not sure but i thought it was when your oestrogen levels were lower than your testerone levels that chin hair can possibly sprout . Ive noticed i get them just before a bleed ie when oestrogen is low . I started to get these hairs before starting hrt . Am Sure someone more knowledgeable will know x

Hi Tiddles - the progestogen in Elleste Duet is norethisterone which is a testosterone derived progestogen so could well have more androgenic effects and account for your chin hair. Here are the different types listed:
https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/perimeno.php
. It doesn't mention the newer ones such as in Angeliq for example (drospirenone).

Hi Tiddles,
I have to say I'm with you on this one. I've always been a bit fluffy around the chin area but over the past two months of Elleste Duet I've noticed I've become hairier and are having to get rid of it more and more often. Not good I have to say. I've now moved onto Evorel Sequi (starting today) so whether or not that will make any difference I don't know.
