Happy New Year to all!
« on: December 31, 2017, 10:14:04 PM »

Hello All
Just wanted to wish you all the best and hope that 2018 is a brilliant year for you all.
The last week has been hard for me...today I cried when the girl at Next handed over my collection parcel. For the 2 days before that, okay I will admit it, i've had suicidal thoughts. Phew I've admitted it to you all and also told my poor husband. Am I suicidal? No NO NO! I love my little life, my 2 kids and my 3 bedroom semi - do-er upper, my job of 27 Years! I love clothes, shoes, gardening, cooking and my family. So what happens to me every so often that turns me into something I don't recognise? The peri menopause! That's it, just that but OMG when it strikes its hell.
I suppose I want to thank you all for your support and am grateful to the Internet for this site which tells me I'm normal for peri! I'm grateful to my friends and family, work for supporting me. What on earth happened to ladies before the Internet and HRT, I hate to think. I continue with my quest to educate my friends about the effect of hormones and if I help 1 person, I'll be happy.
Keep fighting ladies and supporting each other. Lots of love to you all and Happy New Year xxx

Happy new year ladies!

I know for sure without this forum and realising other women suffer and although perhaps not the norm but probably a minority do suffer I'd be in an asylum by now

Keep on fighting, keep on educating xxxx

THANK YOU for posting your new year message of support; it is just what I wanted to see when I logged on today in this brand new year. So please feel a positive glow that your post has helped a follow peri 'shivering whippet' as my husband calls me. I  have felt very low and anxious for the past 4 days (I am sure the lack of light at this time of year and business of Chsitmas doesn't help). But in the last 24 hours it has slightly lifted; maybe thanks to the back to back National Lampoons oldies we  watched with our 'just old enough' kids. Your mood will change again, it really will although I know at the time that seems impossible. Thanks to the lovely ladies who post daily on here and welcome all the new comers; you guys should be getting the MBEs this year!

Yes I agree about some of the contributors on here getting MBE's! I definitely would support that.
Also the lack of daylight hours don't help either - will ensure I take my Vit D.
My mood is better today, and can't comprehend how I felt for the last 2/3 days.
Oh and just realised the shortest has been and gone - roll on Spring!

I'd try a course of the b vitamins too if you don't mind me suggesting that, the nervous system benefits greatly from the bs and it will also help lift your mood.good luck xx

Happy new year to all. 2017 has been a struggle but we made it!!!. Some days are harder than others but we have to keep hope that some day this this hormones roller coaster will end and we can get off, better and wiser for the experience. I am seven weeks on citalopram ads and although I'm far from 'cured' i am having some good days with the bad. I even managed to go out with hubby last night to our local and celebrate New Year's Eve and I survived, I even, dare I say it, enjoyed my night. So hears to the future being better and brighter for us all

Well done Yammy - that's a massive step you've taken. Glad you enjoyed yourself too! I've read your other thread about citalopram.
Not at all Daisydot, I'm open to any suggestions about giving myself a boost.
I've been reading about the benefits of turmeric - thinking of giving that a try too.

You could also try vit d3 spray once a day just spray inside your cheek saves it getting lost in the digestive system kinder on tummy, apple cider vinegar capsules numerous health benefits helps with ph balance if you suffer from Uti s helps neutralise acid in urine,if your other half suffers from gout or hbp it's a huge help won't do any harm to try at all,all available from either h and B or my preference is amazon. High ph balance is common factor in inflammation in the body you want it to be around 7.5 so check your bottled water if your on that too, pref 7,5 or less it all helps if you suffer from cfs or muscle fatigue keep your ph balance towards that lower end.be careful with your diet eat plenty fruit and veg and try to eat a low acidic diet if you suffer from any of the above you'll feel better very quickly,it all effects mood.google will find most of the info you need on low acidic diet and ph balancing foods it's really interesting,it also gives you something to focus on and distracts you from the negative thoughts good luck xx
