Advice on HRT please!!

Hi I'm new to this site but was wondering if anyone can help with advice and experience please?
I've been going through what seems to be (after talking to Drs and lots of friends) a bad menopause.
I've tried most of the supplements you can buy, had a magnet and seen a homeopath all with very little or no success. My flushes day and night were every 20/30 mins and severe. In desperation I went to my Dr who has put me on HRT.
Initially it was Femoston conti which wasn't strong enough so tried Elleste Duet Conti but they really made me bloated and put on weight which my Dr thinks was the different type of progesterone Norethisterone. I also had a bleed. (Ive had all the tests done re the bleeding and is ok there thankfully.)
I've been taking Femoston 2/10mg now for the last 3 weeks but I'm still getting a few warm flushes at night but it hasn't helped at all with my tiredness. (I've also had thyroid tests done and I'm mid range so all normal there).
I like the idea of a conti patch but preferably without norethisterone or a gel maybe? I'm also wondering if some testosterone would help with the tiredness and mood swings?
I would prefer not to have any bleeding but if I found something that made me feel normal again I would take a bleed if I had to.
I'm 54 and desperate at the moment so any help or advice you give me would be really appreciated. Thank you

How long did you try each hrt for? I've been told you have to give it 3 months!

3 months on the lower Femoston conti.
1 month on the Elleste Duet Conti but couldn't stand the bloating and weight gain so changed to the higher Femoston for the last 3 weeks.

Hi Shanp
I'd stick with the Femoston sequi 2/10 for at least 3 months to see if things settle.
A good non bleed option would be to have the Mirena fitted and then use Oestrogel alongside.
Some bleeding or spotting is quite normal in the first few weeks, or even months, on any conti HRT.
It's trial error I'm afraid - look under TREATMENTS on this site to get clued up. DG x
