I have been on kliofem for a month after deciding I wanted to change to a cotinuous tablet to prevent me having a period every month at 57 !! Also I was getting really bad migraines. In the last four weeks my emotions have got out of control I'm crying all the time ,no enthusiasm to do anything just wanting to sleep even to the point of having suicidal thoughts. I'm normally an upbeat person but I feel really low the doctor has suggested anti depressants but I really don't want to resort to that if there's a chance that Hrt will sort my emotions out.im hoping someone will tell me that eventually I will feel normal again !!

I'm afraid using any progesterone every day can have this effect. This is why so many continue with a sequi regime and put up with monthly bleeds. You might be able to do a long cycle - so 4-6 weeks of oestrogen only (patches or gel) and then add in either Utrogestan or Provera for 12 days to bring bleed to shed the lining. In post meno many women this a good compromise - you just need to find which progesterone brings the least side effects.
My best non bleed HRT combo  was to have the Mirena fitted with Oestrogel, applied daily alongside  - I had this for 4 years in my late 50s. A few side effects in first 3 months after fitting but few issues after that. DG x

 ???

Gone! Did you delete your account by mistake Suzy - easily done....?

Sorry to hear about your migraines - and if you are reading then do have a think about some of Dancinggirl's suggestions re HRT. A longer cycle may be the way to go or the Mirena coil with added oestrogen as she suggests. You will feel normal again - not the same as you were when younger but at least able to cope and be positive again - provided you are on the right HRT combo. However I really would seek help if you are having suicidal thoughts Suzy?
