Ladycare Menopause Magnet
« on: November 21, 2017, 06:18:36 PM »

Hi everyone

Hope you're all doing ok.

I've decided to come off of HRT and try the Ladycare Menopause Magnet.

Just wondered if anyone else has tried this and how they got on.

Thanks for any replies.

Take care.

Thanks Dotty.  I've been reading about them and I'm beginning to wonder to be honest.  I've got a supply of Evorel patches just in case.  I've only had it on for a week and the palps have returned a bit so might not stick with it.

Thanks for your reply Dotty.

It's considered placebo with no evidence, however of placebo works then 😊 who cares.

Apparently 30% of all medication is placebo anyway.

Is there a reason why you want to come off of HRT ?

If you can afford the magnet then give it a go , we all have to furrow the path that we feel is right for us . 😊💐

My path is quite rugged 😳😉🤣

Hiya

Well.  I take a lot of medication to help me cope with my symptoms of MS and the HRT is another one.

O just thought I might give it a go to cut down on the meds but will keep a close eye on menopause symptoms returning and if they do I will be back on the HRT.  To be honest MS symptoms are bad enough to cope with without the dreaded menopause symptoms.

Thanks for your reply.

Shazzle 😊 I don't no if you are aware but HRT is suggested to use with MS , as very often helps meno symptoms.

There's a lady on here who has MS , and HRT helps.

If you don't want to take pills , there are the patches and gels.

You have enough to contend with. 💐😊 good luck with it all.

Thanks Maryjane.  Yes.  I think I've chatted with that lady before.

I'm definitely swaying to returning to Evorel patches.  Afterall I was feeling good on it so why change it I suppose.
especially if it helps MS symptoms too.

Thanks for your help.

Yes complete placebo - which is fine for symptoms that have a psychological element (and if the treatment is cheap and harmless) - but placebo won't replace oestrogen and give protection to your heart and bones in the way that oestrogen can!

If your HRT contains estradiol then it is not really medication as such - it is replacing a missing hormone that you are lacking. Some of the progestogens are synthetic but depends which type of HRT you are on?

Sorry I can't remember your menopausal story or age but personally I would "stick" with the patches  ::) - and ditch the magnet (wouldn't wish it on anyone else....!).

Hi Hurdity,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I've already ditched the magnet as I could feel the dreaded palps and night sweats starting to reappear after only one week of wearing the magnet and removing the patch.

"stick to the patch"  Hahahaha   ;D ;D

I'm 57 and have not bled for 2 years now.  I was feeling really well on Evorel patches and decided to try coming off of it and trying the magnet but I know for definite that the magnet isn't as helpful to me as the patch.

Could I ask you as I've been off of HRT before reintroducing it will my system be empty of it's hormone replacement and will I have to wait for it to rebuild?  I'm definitely feeling better back on the patch.

Like you say I wouldn't wish the dreaded effects of the menopause symptoms on anyone.  If it aint broke don't fix it springs to mind  ;D

Thanks again for your reply.  I really appreciate it.

Depends how long you were off it Shazzie. If only a week then long term changes won't have had a chance to take effect. If much longer then yes - there are receptors that indicate oestrogen works at two levels - the level at which we notice changes in systemic oestrogen pretty quickly and then longer term what are known as "epigenetic effects" where different tissues (like bone, skin etc) are affected through intracellular changes. I'm a bit rusty on my biology.... these are the effects that are noticed more especially after long term oestrogen deficiency as in years post-menopause.

Thanks Hurdity.

Blimmin  ek.  There's some big words in there.

I only stopped the patch for 8 days in total and still feeling much better for sticking it back on.

We can only go by how we feel I suppose.

You've been really helpful.  Thank you.
