Sweats/anxiety
« on: October 07, 2017, 09:59:01 AM »

Morning

Last night I woke with one of my usual hot flushes but it doesn't seem to have gone. It lasted much of the night, on and off and this morning still coming in very frequent waves.

For some reason this has thrown me into a mad panic. I don't have a fever, I checked my temperature. My anxiety is at an all time high anyway, I also feel really low and so this has become a major deal, a life threatening deal - how silly is that!

So - I just wondered -have any of you experienced this and put it down to thr menopause? It's just that my hot flushes normally come and go quite quickly.

Thanks just for listening xx

Hi Lynda - there seem to be quite a few flu type viruses going around at the moment but if your temperature is ok then it's more likely to be that your flushes/sweats have stepped up a notch. I used to get infrequent ones during the day but one evening they came every twenty minutes throughout the evening the night and the next day. I too was very anxious about it. There was a definite pattern. I couldn't believe how suddenly it changed from occasional ones to on-the-dot every twenty minute ones but I guess that my oestrogen level had dropped further. It was this that persuaded me to use HRT as it continued like this and I just couldn't cope with the constant sweats and my work was suffering.  I hope yours stop soon and that it's just a blip!

Thank you so much for replying and reassuring me Taz, I really appreciate that. Hopefully (and most likely) it is hormonal. xx

Many ladies find that they have sudden anxiety immediately prior to a flush!  You would know the difference between 'flu and anything else  ;)

Browse round.  Make notes.
