Hi,
Does anyone know if this is related to too low or too high estrogen?

thanks

Hi Katya,
I too have puffy eyes on and off without any particular logic so was wondering the same question. I thought for me it is from estrogen spikes, hense water retention and I also get nasty sinus congestion. But will be interested to hear others experiences. I get the congestion and puffy eyes right around ovulation and a few days after. Not pleasant at all!

Milamam, I too am interested in what people say. It's gone tonight, so it must be as something has worn off.  I know it's connected somehow to a hormonal imbalance, but I'm not sure how. I feel like all my hormones are off balance and I'm struggling to balance with HRT.   I thought high estrogen, but had read somewhere low.  I also know I get it more with estradiol than conjugated, which doesn't make sense.   So I'm interested in people's experiences with it

Katya, do you also get dry eyes when they are puffy? Then somehow it all passes away and then repeat - which convinces me it is hormonal. My eyes now feel dry and gritty, and puffy. I am not on any hormones now but am peri and my own hormones just play havoc really. I was on Femoston for 2.5 years and had no problem with the eyes the way it is now. All so strange!  I hope someone else will have a clue!

Overall they do seem to be a bit on the dry side and sometimes watery.  My hormones are playing havoc too.  I'm struggling to blance, but I do know the puffy eyes are some hormonal imbalance.

Hope22 - yes I do wear eye make-up.  I've always worn it, but didn't have puffy eyes until I started the hrt.  I had them really bad with the oestrogel, they went away with the premarin/utrogestan combo, but the utro doesn't suit me and now back again.

I have dry eyes and I go through phases of getting stye's and puffy eyes. I think it's all connected to the dry eyes and dryness occurs in peri.

My optician noticed I had very dry eyes at my check up and gave me a prescription for hylo fresh drops my eyes feel a lot better. Optician is writing to my docs so I can get them on repeat. I'm on hrt but eyes were still dry...go to optician and get them checked as my eyes feel much more comfortable. Weird symptom of dry eyes is they water a bit as well 😫 Hope this helps xx

Keepgoing, mine water a lot too.  I'm due an eye test so I'll do that.  I think they have changed too with peri.
