Basically ( BTW answering so quick today as in bed ill ) anyway , in our prime we had a nice viscous sticky / mucous discharge that coated the vagina / vulva/ urethra by default which kept everything supple warded off UTIs , then as we age the vaginal walls become thin and without realising it you are dry inside , as the discharge runs out and does not stick and coat the vaginal walls as when we were young .
Hope that make sense ? The watery discharge is also drying, so personally I would start local oestrogen before it potentially gets worse .
Why oh why aren't we warned , as this is a big problem especially repeated UTIs as we age . I have a PHD in VA or so it seems , very tempremtal vagina that has bought me to my knees , and nearly crippled us financially. 😡
