Nervous changing to everol 100mcg
« on: September 08, 2017, 04:51:37 PM »

Hi ladies,
So I went to see Dr Newson at her private Meno clinic today, I've been on hrt mirena coil and 2 pumps oestrogel for just over a year but whilst some symptoms have improved others haven't or they've got worse
So I have been prescribed everol 100mcg patches and testogel. I'm very nervous upping my oestrogen by that much as I had terrible headaches when I first started on hrt

Has anyone else doubled their dose without side effects, also reading the leaflet that comes with the patches it says not the wear tight clothing, I'm in gym leggings nearly every day does this matter?

Thanks

Hi Jinja

It's difficult to compare the two doses because women absorb different amounts of oestrogen from different methods of delivery. I can't remember where you are in menopause - whether peri or post menopausal?

Try not to be nervous....The best you can do is to try it and see but do give it some weeks for your body to adjust as there will always be some side effects when changing to a different type. I haven't come across that about tight clothing - I'm always in jeans/cut offs or shorts or leggings - which are pretty tight. I think it is just so that the patch doesn't rub off and come unstuck. I make sure I have a quick feel fairly regularly to make sure it's still there though  ::)

How much testogel have you been prescribed and which type? It may take a while also to notice the effects of this so don't be tempted to increase the dose if nothing happens. Annie Evans said to me it could take up to 4-5 months before all the  effects come into play!

Hope it all works for you anyway and keep us updated :)
