Love it -the 4/2 rule!  I'm going to coin that now as my absolute rule and spread the word about trying it!

It nearly always works for me - although it is the 2 that does it, mostly because I can usually find another worrying symptom in the two weeks to knock the first one out!!

Thanks!

Hi again Urbanchick

I hope the increased dose of oestrogen works for you. You didn't say what the dose is to start with or what brand it was so if it was 1 mg this still might not be enough. Depending how you feel (or whether you were perfectly OK on the 1 tablet) could you think of changing to patch oestrogen maybe?

The last thing you want is for menopausal symptoms to affect how you cope with the stresses of life - that you seem to be having to endure at the moment. You need to feel at your best mood-wise and in your case low/inadequate oestrogen will not be helping you to achieve this.

Sounds like you are really strong in having strategies to cope  - like waiting until 4 pm - amazing - and then getting the worrying over with. When I am really worried about something (and I really do worry sometimes!) especially if it's something coming up - I just try to imagine myself after the event and say to myself on X date or X time this will have happened and it will be in the past. I used to do this for childbirth! I know it's not like health anxiety because you're worrying about a potential condition rather than event but sounds like you are tackling it!

Anyway - just wanted to mention about the HRT....

Thanks Hurdity -although my doctor is pleasant, but not much good on the HRT front.  My last doctor didn't even know there was any method other than oral!

But will ask about transdermal.   I think I'm OK on 1 mg - have just got a health issue that I am getting way out of proportion [according to my lovely husband, who never worries about his health].   I cancelled my dentist appointment thinking that would make me face my anxiety rather than feeding it [constant reassurance being a real no no if you want to get better].  But as soon as I did, my gremlins came back with a vengeance..  I have a check up in three weeks anyway - so if patch on tongue is still an issue then I can get it checked.  And in the meantime I need to stop obsessing about it.  It's like every CBT course for HA says -if you concentrate on swallowing it becomes an issue, if you don't, then you do it without thinking about it!

Thanks for the support, as always.

Of course the Gremlins jump back in.  It's that 'what if' scenario.  Whether it be 'should I take a brolly in case it rains/snows' to 'will this condition kill me' .........

You could of course visit a Pharmacist for advice, they have private rooms in most Chemists ;-) - then you'll have something firm to discuss with your GP or Practice Nurse.
