Today's the day
« on: July 15, 2017, 07:34:45 AM »

Well I'm starting my Femoston 1/10 today, bit nervous in case I get side effects/ hot flushes or whatever, I don't really know what to expect.
I'm sort having a very light period at present and actually felt more normal yesterday than I have done for about 3 weeks- less exhausted, so gonna give it a try.
Also bought some magnesium tablets, evening primrose oil caps, and might try a magnesium spray......
Anyone else recently started Femoston and how was it for you? Thanks

Good Luck!  I always worry prior to starting a new medication with a fear of how side effects will affect me  :sigh:

Maybe keeping a mood/sympto/food diary would be useful?  I wouldn't start any of the alternatives until you have settled on the HRT or you won't know what is/not helping.

Good luck with it Tapnut45. I agree - just take the Femoston for now and let it settle....not sure what you need all those for anyway  :-\. Make sure your diet is good!

I am also the same as CLKD - I was very worried about starting testosterone for example and in fact I am a person who does not "do" medication if I can help it - only aspirin, ibuprofen, and paracetamol, and HRT - but I only use the "natural" hormones so doesn't count as meds!

In your case the oestrogen is estradiol ( ie the same as your own oestrogen) and the progestogen is dydrogesterone (very  close to your own progesterone) - so it's not like taking a new drug  ::)

Keep us posted and hoping you will feel much better very soon :)

Thanks Hurdity and CLKD, I've felt fine so far today thankfully!
I did read up on here before I got the Femoston, and looked for the most similar hormones so fingers crossed they will suit me.
You're right, maybe I will leave off the extras for now and see how the HRT goes, I usually take a multivitamin anyway so might just carry on with those.
Am trying to get myself back on track with a healthier diet, I've been drowning in sugar for a few months but know I need to rein it in as put on weight. Hoping I will feel less tired and more inclined to exercise too. Thanks again x

The multi-bit should be OK.  Yep, predictive text - multi-vit even?  ::)

Hi again CLKD forgot to say yes thanks about the food/mood/symptom diary, it is useful to look back on actually. I found a bit of paper in a handbag this morning where I'd listed the length of my cycles, moods and pains from 2014, so it looks like I've been peri for longer than I realised!
Re vitamins, my hubby and I have been taking a multivitamin and minerals tablet daily for years now, just bog standard supermarket ones, so we are used to those. Will carry on with those and leave everything else for now.
