Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone didn't get on with the estrogel and what your side effects were.

Since starting it I've experience like a ball of phlegm in my throat, a dark tongue in the morning from a lack of saliva and I feel like I've swollen up through my upper stomach, below my breasts.  This is really uncomfortable, especially when I'm sitting, which I do for work.  Also, about an hour or two after applying the gel I feel my lips shrink and all the fat seems to disappear from my fingers leaving skin and bone.   Just wondering if anyone had experienced these and had better luck with a different hrt.

Not at all, Oestrogel is very well tolerated, I seriously think your symptoms are from another cause perhaps?  I cannot imagine why you would be experiencing such bizarre symptoms as fat seeming to shrink on your skin...very strange... : :-\
Why dont you try going off the HRT for a week or 2 and see if the symptoms disappear then you will know for sure.

Gosh, no! Those are not side effects of the estrogel Katia, although there are side effects potentially with all HRT's.

Maybe go and see the GP about the black tongue if it really is black - very strange! I'm thinking from your description that some of what you may be experiencing may be GERD - which is fairly common during menopause. xxxxx

I asked the dentist about the darker tongue on Tuesday and it is to do with reduced saliva, which is connected with menopause.  I think this has come from the drop in hormones from the pill to HRT.  I just wondered if anyone else experienced any of these?
