For some months, my daughter and her boyfriend have been discussing their lives together - making tentative plans for a wedding in four years, etc, but nothing 'official'. They went to Disney World (Florida) on Tuesday - this morning she sent me a Whatsapp message with a picture of 'the ring'!! They're engaged, and I can't believe how happy I am - it's not like it was a shock to me (Penny had even told me before they left that she was coming home with a ring, even if it was a plastic one!!). I had half-expected them to choose a ring together from one of the jewellery shops in Disney World, but it turns out he chose the ring himself last week and took it with him - and it's beautiful ... exactly right for Penny.
I just needed to share - I'm so happy I could burst!!! Can't brag about it on Facebook yet as they won't be able to tell all the family until they get home, so my happy has to be contained ... and it's so hard!
