Hi sally- I'm 56 and been on HRT for 19 months now ( still having irregular periods when I started it )
I've had difficulty with it as I'm progesterone intolerant so I'm probably going to give it a break for a while to see how I go. I probably first went to the doc about all of this nearly 3 years ago after 18 months of mounting symptoms. We're all different though- both our reaction to it and any medication we take.
I hope your journey is a smooth one but we're all here to support one another x

Hi Sally! Chat away, there's always somebody around to listen even if they cannot offer any advice. Its a life saver at times.
Start with the basics, how old you are and where you think you might be in this lovely menopause process ....

We don't give our destinations away usually ;-).
I suggest that you browse the various topics on vaginal atrophy, anxiety and itchy skin: etc., etc., etc.! As oestrogen levels drop off the skin may become dry: that is, inside and out
: as well as muscles becoming lax = aches and pains.
Make notes!
Oh another birthday on the Forum: does that mean

Hi again
There is no need to suffer with your menopause - there is a lot of support and information on this forum and website. Have you thought of taking anything to alleviate symptoms if you are having a difficult time and it is impacting on your quality of life?
I live in SW England - you can give away as much or as little as you like but we don't usually reveal very small towns and villages - unless we give away nothing of our personal life in which case it doesn't matter. Some don't mind being identified though
Let us know if we can help further.

Hi again Sally, am in the south east - am 50 and have been in peri for about 2 years I think. More recently I have noticed a "dip" so not sure if thats going from peri to full blown menopause? Am assuming it is
I take Elleste Duet as HRT which has helped plus an anti-depressant for the anxiety - but its not called the Change for nothing, it is a huge change. I have had bizarre symptoms (I thought they were bizarre but a lot of folk on here have had them ie, restless legs) and more recently, I have started sweating if I have a sugar spike (a shame, as that piece of Victoria Sponge looked so inviting on the plate, after I had eaten it, I nearly drowned in my own perspiration!!). My taste buds have definitely changed - I used to love red wine but now - eurghh
I did see one of the menopause specialists recommended on this site initially - it was nice to have an hours conversation without being rushed and she knows her stuff. Unfortunately the "journey" (I hate that word!) is diferent for all ladies as one size doesn't fit all, so to speak.
Keep posting and good luck

Hi sally- no need to apologise. We can hide ( if we choose to) under a veil of anonymity as some of the stuff we talk about is highly personal and we don't want our next door neighbour to know for example ,that we peed the bed and tried to blame it on the blanket! Or threatened to cut off our husbands willy because he just wanted a cuddle. A real cuddle not a euphemism for one.
We are lovely we really are but we would have all been locked up not so long ago.
Just do whatever feels comfortable with you. X
