Hi everyone, was referred here by my GP and wondered if anyone else was familiar with my situation, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
 
I'm 38 and diagnosed Endo May 2011. Started decapeptyl injections to stop periods and was in extreme meno for a yr while on this, and on livial 2.5 for side effects.
Mid 2012 came off livial and put onto depo provera injections 12 wkly in place of decapeptyl.
No periods since May 2011.

Have had infrequent symptoms since 2011, all of which do fall under meno, but could also have been the decapeptyl, flushing, headaches, joint pain, nightsweats, insomnia, mood swings, its all going on!

Anyhoo, since March last yr I've had livial 2.5 again, elleste solo 2mg and now I'm on elleste Duet 2/1 as need extra protection for womb. I also remain on depo provera and cannot find anything about having this and hrt at same time which worries me. Started duet end of March this yr. 

Have had tests done which were fine, but depo can effect the results I've been told, so nobody at GP or gynae dept can say for certain I'm peri, full on meno or neither! The only way to know is to stop the depo and have tests done again in 6 mths, and they are reluctant to do this as Endo could return and make things worse.

Feel worse on elleste Duet though, more pain mostly. Been off work a while too. I see GP next wk, and gynae at end of June to review.
I've been told I must remain on depo and hrt, probably till I'm 52. Deary me.
I'm also on amitript 40mgs to help with headaches, pain and insomnia.

Anyone familiar with this ? It all seems never ending!

Hi Tutters - my son's fiancee is also being treated for severe endo and has been on various hormonal concoctions over the past few years. Like you we are at a loss to see what is causing/treating what. It really is very difficult to understand how you can knock something out totally and then add it back in a different way and still work out what's happening!

Have you been on the Endometriosis UK site? There may be someone else with similar problems and questions?

Obviously while on Depo Provera you wont have periods so I can see how difficult it is to work out where you are in meno.

Yes, too much oestrogen and Endo gets fed, not enough and I'm all over the shop effin and jeffin.
I'm on healthunlocked forum via Endo website searching now, I'll call them tomorrow if I can't find anything as helpline open 7-8pm.

You're welcome. I've seen first hand what devastation this illness can cause. My future daughter-in-law hasn't been able to work for two years due to pelvic pain syndrome and problems caused by frequent laparoscopies to remove try to remove the endo. She is 32. I feel so sad for her and for others in this situation and the different medications just seem to cause more problems. Let us know how you get on.

Me again, I've been to gynae clinic and have been told that I will need more oestrogen in form of Elleste solo, either a 1 or 2 mg, on top of Elleste duet 2/1. Is there a chance that a gel might work better? I don't feel much different on the tablet? Any input would be greatly appreciated again. X
