To add insult to injury!
« on: May 27, 2017, 11:14:02 PM »

Ok, for the first time ever, in the last week, I'm noticing when I go to the loo, there's already a drop or two of urine in my underwear.  Very very slight, but I don't want any!!!

There's no urgency at all so I'm thinking it's a muscle weakness problem, but it's interesting how it's coincided with all these other symptoms.

It makes me wonder if I take the HRT whether I can nip it in the bud...?

Any thoughts?   :'(

I guess no one else is really getting this symptom?  I'm not sure why I am, it seems a bit sudden.  Perhaps I should just see how it goes over this coming week.  The problem is I'm totally unaware of it actually happening.  I hope I haven't damaged my muscles in some way for good.

i get the drips after I've stood up from peeing , dr said it's because of my bladder prolapse

It's worth mentioning to your dr as it could be the start of your bladder weakening

I would guess it's probably a laxity of muscles. Have you tried pelvic floor exercises. Over time that can help.
Make sure you sit long enough to properly empty your bladder when you do go.
Vagifem can also help with this too.

How do you cope Annie?

At the moment, if this doesn't go away, I'll use a panty liner.  It's very slight, but I fear it may be persistent and get worse.

I'm not going to use panty liners for a few days because it's so slight I won't know if it's happened if I'm using them.  I want to see if it keeps happening first.

Thanks.  I will be going to my doctor but with the palpitations, etc, the doctors are beginning to just give me blanket reassurance for everything and are not listening to anything.

I phoned to say that my ankle swelling is a lot worse since my beta blocker dose was increased and was told, well, we've had a few hot days, that might have done it.   >:(  (this absolutely is not the case I'm not that stupid, I wouldn't have called if I thought it was that)

I will have to be very assertive with them and say I wish to try some oestrogen cream at the very least.

BTW, I've heard that pumpkin seed extract is really good so I will give that a try.

I suppose my biggest fear is that it would produce odour.  I work part time for a guy that told me the previous woman 'smelt of urine.'  He's not the most tactful of people (he has aspergers syndrome, but deep down is kind and cares about people).  I said to him, 'oh dear that sort of thing is my worst fear.  You would tell me if anything like that was the case, or my breath was bad or anything wouldn't you.'  He said he would and we joked about it......but now!  lol, that's in my mind!

You need to see a Continence Nurse, your Clinic or local Hospital should have access to a Nurse - liners can encourage bacteria which may cause other problems.

Odour is caused by bacteria ;-).

Tena mini are better than a panty liner because they also deal with any odour.

Thanks.  So far today there's been nothing at all (yes I've been checking, lol)

Point taken about liners...hopefully this is not permanent, but I know it could be the start of something.

Glad to see you guys laughing.  It feels like the end of the world for me at the moment, but I think that's hormones too, lol.

Why on earth can't women pee in a straight line after a certain age?  I can a lot of the time, but just recently that's changed as well.  ;D

I don't usually leak when I cough or sneeze, but it's happened a few times and I put that down to hormone changes, but at least I KNEW when that happened and could go change.  I don't want this trickle without sensation thing, I'll end up a smelly old lady...because I won't know when its happened, it's not enough to feel wet as such   :'(

All day I've been fine today, until a while ago, I noticed my bladder was full when walking back from the shop.  I'm one of those people that can cope with a full bladder, but I suddenly had the thought that perhaps this is the only time the leak might occur (as it hadn't happened all day), so I go check and at first all seemed fine.....but then I noticed the tinnsiest, tiny wet patch, smaller than a 5p piece and so little I could hardly see it on my underwear......but I found it!!   ;D  I can't have that.  I just can't.  I won't know if it's happened, I won't know if I smell and.....

ok I'm being a bit ocd about this...   ;D

But I don't want it.  Gonna have to work on those kegels.
