Hi Mharie6- welcome.

Have a good read about the HRT preps on this site plus alternative treatments/ therapies. The decision to go on HRT is highly personal and it can help a lot but it's not always useful for some women and it's trial and error with different HRT regimes to get something that suits. However, you may strike lucky early on but if you do go on it- you really need to give it 3 months to see how you get along although your flushes should get better/ disappear sooner than this.

Make some notes and go see your GP. Some aren't clued up on HRT and some are reluctant to prescribe but if you want to go on it, stand your ground.

let us know how you get on and  :welcomemm:

Hi mharie6

 :welcomemm: from me too.

You haven't said how old you are but it is important to take HRT especially, if you are under the average age of menopause of 51/52. As Michelemabelle says there is a lot of information on this site (top Green banner - treatments/HRT preparations - where they are all listed).

If you are getting persistent numbness in your arm - perhaps get that checked out with the doc - or maybe you are just sleeping on it awkwardly if it occurs on waking and then is OK?

I started HRT when I was late peri-menopausal (just under age 54) and have been on it 10 years. it was definitesly a question of quality if life and sleep forme - and I was one of those who was going to do it all naturally! In fact the hormones I use are as natural as you can get because they are biologically identical to those made in our bodies - ie estradiol and progesterone.

No need to suffer - and we can help you in your choice and as you go through this process!

Also time to think about diet and lifestyle if necessary - which will reap dividends.

Let us know what you decide and if we can help further.:)
