Just got back from a MRI.
Brief history full hysterectomy in 2013, kept ovaries.

9 weeks later life saving surgery for vaginal cuff dehiscence with loops of bowel protruding (hideous!!)

2014 Endometriosis removed along with large cyst and part of ovary.

2015 Ovarian failure and start of HRT journey.

Got left sided pain again and scan couldn't find ovaries hence the MRI.

I'm taking 3 pumps of oestrogel and a blob of testogel, have had to introduce 100mg utrogeston which was doing ok on but now the headaches have appeared 

Is there any other ladies on here with endometriosis and how have you handled HRT??

Looks like I'll need yet another surgery and I'm gutted! I've 4 children at home and had to cut back work to one day a week from this week as suddenly I've been floored with headaches, fatigue and anxiety.

Oh, Otes! That is some journey you've been on - bless your heart! If you feel up to it, why not start a specific thread for Endo. ladies? This is long overdue on MM, if you ask me.

I used to have to have my ovaries 'tracked' by CT scan as I was such a mess of adhesions from many previous pelvic surgeries (not endo. related though - mainly cysts, fibroids, ectopic pregnancy etc). What did they see on the MRI? Do you have more growths? I really feel for you, truly - and I'm sending you so many hugs.

Can't help with HRT but all I'd say is that surgery to have ovaries removed not a bad idea . I've recently finished chemo for ovarian cancer and it has come out in my last oncology consultation that what I had was a chocolate ( endometriosis ) cyst that have eventually become malignant. Not common but always possibility with endometriosis so I'd say if they offer surgery, take it up. They aren't keen on unopposed oestrogen HRT for women with endo so even without your ovaries and womb they often prescribe progesterone . Because of my cancer, I'm not allowed anything and tbh I've not found it as bad as pre surgery when I was having hormonal fluctuations more frequently - I get flushes and have had odd bouts of anxiety but so far it's been ok.

I don't get the results for 3 weeks!
 
That's if they've not been lost in cyberspace after today's cyber attacks, I bloody hope not I didn't enjoy the MRI much!

The consultant did say he would probably remove my ovary but depends on where it's got attached too as doesn't want to risk damage to my bowel, and neither do I!

It could be adhesions and not a return of endometriosis so he did say if that was the case I should be ok with 7 days of Utrogeston, I'll just have to wait & see.

Got my results!

Both my little shrivelled ovaries are attached to my bowel 

The consultant who is a endometriosis specialist has recommended removing them which fingers crossed he can do keyhole. He has recommended continues Utrogeston along with the oestrogel and T. Just waiting for a date although I would prefer after the summer hols.

Thanks for the update Otes73 - it seems our atrophied ovaries tend to do a disappearing act in post-menopause - last time I had a scan they couldn't see mine.

I do hope you feel better soon  once your body has acclimatised to the HRT and that your surgery goes well.

Got my surgery booked for early October. I've got a bit of wait as having with an Endometriosis specialist. I'm dreading it as it'll be my 4 th gynae op. Fingers crossed the last!!
