Did anyone see this on Lorraine? She spoke very eloquently and honestly everything she said it could have been me.

Hi Peri

Yes I saw it this morning. It was such a good, honest interview I was hoping my GP was watching. She mentioned seeing a Prof who prescribed her gels........ put money on it was Prof Studd ;)

Hi ladies, I watched Carol this morning. I thought at last! People are speaking out. It would have been Prof Stud she saw as Denise Welch saw him and they are friends from Loose Women.

Yes and his standard prescription seems to be estrogel/utrogestan/testim which seems to be the gold standard hrt.  All of which you can get on the nhs (I have).  What I found interesting is how she felt better immediately on this regime, because that's been my experience also x

I don't think there's any such thing as a 'gold standard' regime - millions of women aren't on it and are doing just fine on patches, tablets etc.

It's all about using what suits you in my opinion.

I thought it was a good interview however I think she needs a fringe haha

Did anyone do this interview? I spoke to the journalist but couldn't agree to being photographed as there are so many people I haven't told what's happened to me. I would have really liked people to know what can happen though - not everyone has sustained relief of symptoms xxx

Have just read Carol's interview in The Mirror.  I am very glad that she has spoken out about her experience of depression with the menopause.  I am grateful that she has gone public on the TV as this is still very much a taboo subject and she has been very courageous in speaking publically.  There are so many women who are not receiving the help that they need and are suffering because of menopause.

Just watched this on Youtube - it's an informative interview and it was brave to speak so openly about menopausal depression as the whole subject is still so taboo.  It's good that the HRT regime has worked (immediately) for Carol (and many others) - sadly HRT (in whatever form) is not the magic bullet for all and still needs much research and development.

Hi all
I saw Prof Studd and was on HRT regime of gel, utrogestan and testim.  It didn't work for me, left it for a while then went to my GP and asked to try a patch and was a lot better with that.  It just goes to show different things suit different people.  At the time I almost gave up with the HRT thing, but glad I experimented a bit.

I'm a bit confused that carol mentioned she was just prescribed creams and gels.  As far as I know Prof Studd does not prescribe progesterone cream?    Has anyone seen him recently and can confirm about the progresterone ?    I don't think Oestrogel is truly a bio identical hormone...its not made from plants as far as I know?  I think truly   Bio Identical hormones are the ones found at compounding pharmacies?
