Well the discomfort is still on going some days ok but some days like today have taken pain killers. I have another ultrasound on the 15th June, this will be my 4th in less than a year I hope they didn't miss anything before. I feel really down in the dumps and convinced I have something awful. 😢😢😢

Glad to hear it's benign Laylabud - sorry I missed that, and also sorry to hear about the ongoing discomfort. If it has been shown to be benign then it cannot be something awful surely - but I can understand you're fed up with the continuing discomfort and do hope you manage to get it diagnosed and treated properly soon?

Hi have not been on here for a while.
I have had another ultrasound today there was some good news and some not so good news.
It appears my wall lining is now at 3mm down from 10mm without any meds.
I knew I had a couple of fibroids but it appears I now have 4 along with a cyst on my ovary. The sonographer has suggested that the doctor will want to have a blood test done and maybe 6 monthly ultrasounds to check on the cyst, she also said I may want to consider a hysto to get rid of the lot as it could turn nasty.
Any advice would be welcome.

Did the sonographer give any idea of nature of cyst? Functional or complex? The blood test will be a Ca125 test which is a marker for inflammation rather than ovarian cancer per se though elevated levels can indicate that- I am recovering from ovarian cancer and I'd be inclined to pursue the removal line as any cyst can become malignant at any time, esoecially in post menopausal ladies. Fibroids can also develop malignancies though this isn't as common as ovarian cancers developing. Given that you've been repeatedly needing scans I would think a hysterectomy would be one way out of ongoing investigations though it can be a fairly major operation.

No she didn't say as such but she said it was common to have cyst on the ovary. I do believe they can shrink in menopause as with the fibroids. I am not keen on surgery but if that is the only option then I guess I will have to accept it.

I have today had my results from my ultrasound. It is concerning as there are words on the report that I don't understand, I have used good old Google so now have some idea. The conclusion is at I have a bulky antervered uterus with multiple fibroids.
I have a small simple cyst on my left ovary but what I don't understand is this bit can anyone advise?
"A small multi-loculated avascular cyst noted in the right adnexa suggest multicystic ovary measures 25x19mm. Lab correlation suggested.

HELP 😢😢😢

Have had to have a blood test for .CA 125 and have a gyno appointment for the 14th of Sept. I am guessing they will tell I will have to have a hysto. I am terrified if this is the case.

Is there any rush?  Make a list of your worries to take with you!  Ask what the alternatives are and also get advice on HRT !

HRT will not reduce fibroids and can make them grow - except if you have a Mirena - although medium doses may not necessarily make them grow eg in my case I had one small one ( just under 1 cm) which has shrunk despite being on long cycle HRT. If you are post-menopausal then you would have the option of continuous combined HRT which is designed to be no bleed - and this would be helpful re fibroids. If you are peri-menopausal then a Mirena would be the best option re fibroids and even with low/medium dose oestrogen can stop periods after a few months of settling in when bleeding/spotting can occur.  However in your particular circumstances, specialist input that you will be getting from a gynae is the best approach as my suggestions are only general ones.

No question is stupid on here - we all have to start somewhere. There is a lot of info about menopause and HRT on the main website ( top tabs pale green banner).

Let us know what happens after your gynae appointment :)
